March 19, 2025, 1:32 pmA contestant on *Wheel of Fortune* couldn't help but laugh when he encountered an easy Bonus Round puzzle. Host Ryan Seacrest had to pause him from answering too quickly, as he still needed to address the camera. Following his impressive moment on the show, he reflected on the experience and how it helped him tick off a bucket list item.
Rich Rinaldi from Narberth, Pennsylvania, competed against Cherie Mohr from Henderson, Nevada, and Unnecia Gathright from Bolingbrook, Illinois.
Rinaldi kicked things off by solving the first toss-up, “Cracking Open A Coconut,” which earned him $1,000. He quickly guessed the second toss-up as well, “Put Down The Phone,” adding another $2,000 to his total. Although Rinaldi, an expert travel packer, spun the wheel for the first puzzle, he unfortunately landed on “Lose a Turn.” The contestants took turns spinning and guessing letters, but Gathright frequently landed on “Bankrupt.” Ultimately, Rinaldi solved the puzzle “Working on Vacation,” bringing his bank to $1,150, and also secured a Wild Card.
In the “Before and After” puzzle, Mohr, a concierge at a Las Vegas hotel, landed on the $10,000 wedge and solved “Orange Chicken Little,” boosting her total to $18,200. In the Prize Puzzle round, Gathright finally got on the board after a series of “Bankrupt” spins. She managed $3,500 and rode the Express train, guessing letters until she made a mistake. Unfortunately, her guess of “R” wasn’t on the board, and she went bankrupt again. Rinaldi then guessed the puzzle “Gazing up at the Clouds,” winning a trip to Aruba and increasing his bank to $14,365.
Rinaldi successfully guessed all three triple toss-ups, adding $10,000 to his total and placing him in the lead. Gathright solved the final puzzle, “Cooking with Gas,” finally getting on the board with $4,500. Mohr finished with $18,200, but Rinaldi emerged victorious with $24,365 and a trip to Aruba, advancing to the Bonus Round.
