The Los Angeles Rams were in the running for a potential reunion with Jalen Ramsey, but ultimately missed out after the Miami Dolphins agreed to trade the All-Pro cornerback to the Pittsburgh Steelers. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Rams and Steelers were the two main teams involved in the trade discussions.
Pittsburgh sealed the deal by sending three-time All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick to Miami—a trade package likely stronger than anything the Rams could have offered. The Steelers also gave Ramsey a $1.5 million raise, boosting his 2025 salary to $26.6 million. Financial constraints may have played a role in the Rams backing out, as they were likely hesitant to increase Ramsey's salary beyond what he was already owed.
