Wimbledon 2025 Semi-Finals: Sinner Dominates Djokovic, Alcaraz Outlasts Fritz — As It Happened

Jannik Sinner delivered a commanding performance to dismantle Novak Djokovic in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, 6-4, while Carlos Alcaraz battled past Taylor Fritz 6-4, 5-7, 6-3, 7-6, securing a blockbuster rematch of their French Open final.

Sinner Wins 6-3, 6-3, 6-4

The umpire calls time—and perhaps signals the end of an era. Could this be the last chapter of Novak Djokovic’s remarkable Wimbledon journey? It certainly feels like a changing of the guard. The former champion, clearly hampered by injury, simply couldn’t keep pace with the relentless world No. 1.

The final game is swift: 15-0, 30-0, 40-0—three match points. Sinner briefly falters with a forehand into the net, but it’s a minor slip. On the next point, he fires a wide serve, and Djokovic is already moving to the net, conceding before Sinner’s winner even touches down in the open court.

At last, the crowd rises to give Sinner the recognition he’s earned. He’s through to his first Wimbledon final, setting up a blockbuster rematch with Carlos Alcaraz—the same matchup from the French Open final.

But the applause quickly shifts back to Djokovic, who exits to a standing ovation. Sinner joins in with warm respect for the seven-time Wimbledon champion—perhaps marking his final farewell on the grass where he once ruled.
